† Course sessions that are denoted as "Web-based" will be delivered over the web for remote participants using a tool such as GoToMeeting. A GNWT representative will follow up with attendees prior to the course start date with details for accessing the session remotely.

**Virtual sessions are meant to mirror in-person learning that will require interaction of participants.  Attendees should participate in a quiet area where possible and have access to both a webcam and a microphone.**

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) with support from the Northern Mosaic Network offer 2SLGBTQQIA 101: Inclusive Workplace Awareness Training to all GNWT employees.  This training will be co-facilitated with Amanda St.Denis – Workforce Diversity Officer with the Department of Finance (GNWT) and Chelsea Thacker – Executive Director (Northern Mosaic Network).

The content of this 5.5 hour course is designed to provide all GNWT employees with the necessary knowledge and tools to recognize key terms associated with the  2SLGBTQQIA community, identify and apply respectful behaviour and to support co-workers and clients within the 2SLGBTQQIA  community. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Gain a basic understanding of key terms within the 2SLGBTQQIA community;
  • Identify the barriers and unique challenges that 2SLGBTQQIA employees may experience in the workplace; and
  • Take action in creating and supporting a healthy, inclusive workplace.
