A general introduction to the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP Act) is offered as a two-hour course.

This course is specifically designed for all employees including those who do not work in the field of Access to Information and Protection of Privacy but who want to know their obligations under the legislation. Provides an overview of Part 1: Access to Information and Part 2: Protection of Privacy.


Topics covered: the governing principles of the ATIPP Act, the common objectives of, and the differences between the two parts of the ATIPP Act; the public's right of access and the exceptions to the right of access and the rules governing the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.
