Did you know that Canadian women earn, on average, only 73.5 cents for every dollar that men earn? Or that women continue to be under-represented in leadership and executive positions, occupying only 10.3% of positions on corporate boards?
While many advances have been made in terms of gender equality, gaps remain.
Gender-based analysis (GBA) assesses the differential impacts on women and men by considering their different life situations and socio-economic realities.
GBA+ is an analytical tool used to assess the potential impacts of policies, programs, services, and other initiatives on diverse groups of women and men, taking into account gender and other identity factors. The "plus" in the name highlights that GBA+ goes beyond gender, and includes the examination of a range of other intersecting identity factors (such as age, education, language, geography, culture and income).
The GNWT is committed to a diverse, inclusive and equal workplace and support the use of any tools or resources that help employees to provide programs or services in ways that recognize the diversity of the NWT.
