The Managers stream of the Leadership Development Program is designed to help managers enhance their leadership skills.  It promotes the opportunity to learn from colleagues and develop networks that are vital for success in a changing work environment.

Program Overview

This stream has 4 modules and will assist participants with developing collaborative relationships through trust, thinking, acting strategically, and planning for and effectively managing change within GNWT departments, boards and agencies.

This stream is intended to facilitate personal development in relation to the six GNWT behavioural competencies:

  • Authentic Leadership
  • Engaging Others
  • People Management
  • Action Management
  • Systems Thinking
  • Sustainable Management


The program has been designed for:

  • Managers with a minimum of one to two years of management experience.
  • Individuals who are expected to lead projects and teams, or who are preparing for future growth opportunities in management.

Departments will select successful candidates based on the Affirmative Action Policy.  Participants must declare their status when submitting their application.
