

The final step is to create an action plan that will help the employee achieve their goals.
As a coach, you are now in a position to guide your employee towards committing to a course of action. While you still want to maintain a respectful, positive mindset, this is your opportunity to add a degree of toughness to your questioning:
What are you going to do? This question is very different from “what could you do?” or “what are you thinking of doing?” If you ask this question in a clear, firm voice, you will indicate that it is decision time.
