As per the Green Shield Benefits brochure:

Your child can attend school or another institution outside your community or residence and remain a dependant.

A dependant means a person living with you who is:

• your spouse (including common-law)
• your child, step-child, adopted child or foster child who is:
  • under 21 and is dependant upon you for support; or,
  • is 21 years old or over and is dependant upon you for support because or mental of physical illness.
• a relative who is wholly dependant upon you for support because of mental or physical illness.

An enrollment form must be completed and signed by the employee.  You must inform your Benefits Officer of any changes in dependants.

Note: Other than the instances noted above, dental coverage ceases at age 21.
