Who do I contact to obtain information on my pension contributions as a GNWT employee?

You can contact Superannuation directly.

This link will take you to the “Contact Us” page on the Government of Canada’s Pension site where there are a number of contact methods listed for you.

You will need to provide your Personal Record Identifier number (PRI) which can be found at the following path in your PeopleSoft Self-Service:

Self-Service>Benefits> Leave Details/Benefit Info>click search

I just had some dental work done for over $700 and Green Shield is refusing to pay. What can I do?

As per the Green Shield Benefit brochures, if a dental claim is expected to exceed $500, it is strongly suggested that the dentist submit an estimate of the expenses to Green Shield prior to the dentist administering the procedure.  This will ensure that the procedure the dentist recommends is eligible for coverage.

Dental coverage (excluding orthodontic services) has a maximum benefit of $1,500 per benefit year, per dependant.

My dental/health care plan provider has indicated my coverage has ceased; what do I do?

This sometimes happens when a casual is extended late or when there is a period of time between casual jobs and the system shows the casual is terminated. Casuals should not lose earned entitlements if their break does not exceed 30 working days.

In this case, you will need to initiate a HelpDesk ticket. Briefly advise what coverage was denied, and the date(s) coverage was denied. Be sure to include your Employee ID number.

I’ve just gotten married. How do I add my spouse to my Benefits Plans?

In order to have your spouse added to your Benefits Plans, you will need to submit a request to your Benefits Officer, either in Yellowknife or in one of the regional Service Centers.  If submitting by email, make your request, state your Employee ID number, and attach a copy of your Marriage Certificate.

**In order to have any dependants added to your Benefits Plans, you must always provide copies of the appropriate certificates such as Birth, Marriage or Adoption Certificates.

Where do I locate my employee benefits plan numbers?

In PeopleSoft, go to HRIS > Self-Service > Benefits > Leave Details/Benefit Info

Enter your employee ID number, or select 'Search' and it will pull it up.

This opens an employee information window which provides plan numbers for:

a) Health Care Number – PSHCP Certificate Number (Canada Life)

b) Dental Number  – Green Shield Dental Plan

c) PSMIP (IAN) Nbr -  Insurance Certificate Number

d) Pension Nbr - Superannuation - Not Applicable for Employees
